Agalloch last night...

yeah for ffs everything now is directed to Nfu, ''NFU this, NFU that'' for fuck's sake, i honestly really like this board but some of you guys are obsessed faggots...if you don't like it here, just leave, wtf.

If everyone took what Metal Wrath says with a grain of salt, there'd be less bitching about him.

I've never listened to Agalloch. I remember the whole other thread turning into one big argument, but I'm curious as to whether they are worth giving a try?

i dont know anyone who "hates" agalloch really. but most people either LOVE them, or just think theyre decent. im part of the latter group. but id say theyre worth checking out, they have their moments.

why would that warrant a whole new thread? ive always said they were a decent band with some good moments.
Haha, I was joking. The point was maybe I could start a Poll for "5 Best Agalloch Moments" or something like that.

oh i see what youre getting at. alright, why not. the world could probably use yet another agalloch thread.
"wat iz ur favorite agalloch member iyo?"

I was at this show, it was a decent show I must say!
The sound was soo much better in the back, the sound guy pretty much did the right things on the PA but if you got close to the stage, it was pretty messy.

I appreciate Agalloch's stage show, the little things they try to do. The burning scent they had in the beginning.. the "leave all guitars on" to leave an uncontrolled feedback thing they did was cool too.. The intro was interesting (the loop noise John recorded initially) most of it was pretty cool.

Yes you could see they dont play live as much and they could work on their sound/settings/volumes but overall I think they managed to carry their feeling accross, and it was very cool!

I've got their new album on pre-order.. cant way to get it. :)

Lmfao, I forget, which song was that in?

i think that was in the three part epic, "use google u moron"

I saw them play the first time they came through SF a couple of years ago...I was less than impressed with their live performance and it's a shame to hear that they haven't improved as they are a band who, if they had a good live performance, would really be impressive. They're a good band and I enjoy their music but as far as I'm concerned you can do all the noodling and fancy arrangements you want on a album where you have 50 takes but if you can't translate that into a live setting, well....

I think they did improve much. But if you dont play live you won't get much better at it! I think their upcoming tour in Europe will do them a lot of good. I also hope they get a dedicated sound guy to help them work on their sound in future shows.
