I just pretend to know
I enjoy Agalloch quite a bit, but it doesn't surprise me in the slightest that they're not very interesting live. It's more atmosphere music, and their style of playing never struck me as a band that would be very tight in a live setting. That said, I can hardly think of anything better for a drive on a bright winter's day. Everything has its place.
