you did that video, what about 6-7 years ago nailz?
Yeah. I also totaled up the views for my Nightwish - Dead Boy's Poem/NG:E video, and it clocks in at 331,000 views. What the living fuck?

This pains me to say this, but I gotta agree with Bob. It definitely has a big Sabbath influence, though I would say they're better than what he said about them. There's more soloing and such but the core here is definitely Sabbath. And I know this is your genre Jason, but I just don't see this band being accessible to the Progpower faithful like WHW has become. Those vocals are definitely an acquired taste that will turn some off. I do agree with whoever said it though that Solitude Aeturnus would do well in addition to some other doom bands.
sounds like Ozzy singing in someones garage.
Oh, the vocals are what definitely make Pagan Altar an acquired taste.
I posted their name as a band that to me (at least) is not 100% Sabbath worship. I am fine with this, as it is very cheap and easy for non-doom fans to throw out the Sabbath tag. Personally, I don't hear any Ozzy in this guy's voice whatsoever, but so be it.
No need to apologize for disagreeing. It's totally cool.
I certainly don't expect a lot of agreement on the doom genre in general.
I am just happy that a lot more people seem open to it than before.
Just like how many years ago, bands like Iced Earth had to go overseas for big tours, many US doom bands do the same today.
People seriously don't like Black Sabbath?![]()
Yeah. What's the big deal? Plenty of people who like good music don't like Black Sabbath.

To be honest, a lot of people who say they don't like Sabbath have not heard much beyond the Paranoid album.
Furthermore, what is more disturbing, is how many fans are unfamiliar with the Tony Martin era, as that is some of the finest heavy metal ever recorded.
Absolutely. Eternal Idol and especially Tyr are what I'd consider power metal classics.

Agalloch is quite brilliant. They're one of my few blind buys.anyone still think they'd be given a chance if they busted out this? I just imagine people flocking to the door. Frankly, I love this shit.
