Actually, there 'ARE' a lot of variations and actual changes in the music, in the melodies, from song to song and within the songs.
And I can't really imagine a kid coming up with something as brilliant as The Mantle.

At first I didn't like Mantle too much. It was boring to me. And for this reason: There isn't a lot of variations and actual changes in the music, in the melodies, from song to song and within the songs.

Exactly... I probably liked it a little more than you did originally (because I already had a taste for that sound), but there isn't a lot of variation. It's still really enjoyable.


On the subject of Palk Folklore, there's more musical variety. The lyrics are weaker overall. More raspy vox. It's a very different CD, but it is very, very good. Recommended.

i was really suprised when i downloaded it after all the praise it gets. i really im sitting here wodnering wtf is so good about it. some of these sogns are so boring and repetitive.


perhaps it needs more time like most good things do.

i just listened to the lodge and nothing happened the whole way through! sounds liek an age of empires sound track

was this the impression people got on their first listen aswell?

If someone wants to feel the true majesty of The Mantle, they have to listen to it from the beginning to the end, in the exact same order of the songs on the cd.

Dude, The Lodge is like a 5-minute instrumental that gains meaning through the whole course of the album.
