Agggghhhhhh!!!!!! MEGADETH!!!!!!!!!!!

Holy shit that rules. Menza is THE 'deth drummer to me, his ride is part of their sound. I loved Gar Samuelson though.

Yeah, Menza all the way baby! I remember Tranquilian telling me he joined the ranks again. That drumkit of his rules.

Thing is, didn't he get cancer of the knee or something?

So all they need now is a second guitarist and a bass player....and one helluva cool supporting act.

Hmmmm....as much as I love Poland for his own distinct style, is he a 'session guitarist' type player in the same way Al Pitrelli is? In other words, can Poland play the Marty Friedman solos from RiP, CtE, and Youthanasia?

This reminds me, I really want the Rude Awakenings DVD.

What the hell, Poland was just a hired gun? I assumed he'd tour with them, that sucks if not. I'd much rather either Poland play Friedman's stuff or vice versa, instead of some dude playing both in Joe Holmes like stand in.

Yeah, Poland was a hired gun, but out of respect for what Mustaine wanted to accomplish on this new album. Seriously, when you hear what Poland brings to the table it all makes sense....

But come on, let's be real. Even most guitar virtuoso's shit themselves when they see what Friedman can do, but yeah, I would love to see Poland tackle it. If he can get that stuff down, then there is nobody else I'd rather have up their next to Mustaine.

After all, I cannot forget that before "Hangar 18" there was "Wake Up Dead". Quite possibly the greatest example of what six strings and some heroin can do.

Are Friedman's solo albums any decent, or just typical wankery stuff? Not that that's so bad I guess...

They're rubbish for the most part I'm sad to say. However, Scenes is beautiful. The whole Japanese collaboration with Kitano is stunning IMO.

Oh his first one after Cacophony was good too....it was the album that made Mustaine call him up. I think it was called Dragon's Kiss??. I have it lying around somewhere....must dig it out.

For all those who did not yet hear this ... the full album is up on www.VH1.com for your listening pleasure !!!

AND FOR THOSE THAT HAVE THE PROMO ... sounds like things have been added and remixed. I am listening to the first track and there is a major differrence to my ears ... or maybe I am just tired.

The End are selling "The System Has Failed" already.

*cue jokes about wanting it before 2006*

I think I'll get mine from the record store next Tuesday. :D It'll be interesting to hear if anything did get added or remixed as lurch mentioned.

Have only heard a few songs from the new one, if it's consistent it looks like an 8/10 album.
Listened to it once now, pressed play again. So far not consistent. Sad NAD.

Once!!? Shit, since buying the CD, I've listened to it 20 times already (it went straight into the car, heh). But you're right, it's not consistent. Tracks I don't really like are "Tears in a Vial", "Of Mice and Men", "Something that I'm Not".

It's just that the good stuff outweighs the bad stuff tenfold!!! I mean, listen to that riff on Kick the Chair. I just can't even begin to imagine transcribing that.

Best tracks are:

Blackmail
Die Dead Enough (probably my fave - didn't realize it was originally meant for Tomb Raider 2, but it does have the movie soundtrack feel to it - the intro is pure James Bond)
Kick the Chair
The Scorpion
Back in the Day
Truth be Told
My Kingdom

The rest is just killa filla, but still has that 'Deth appeal. So 7 gems out of 10 aint bad.
