Because I'm a stoner and can't remember who said it and where, I remember someone talking shit about "Return To Hangar" and I'm wondering why. In fact, if anything I have been listening to The World Needs a Hero quite a bit lately.

The biggest problem with that album is that it's simply boring. The songs might be 'darker' than those on Risk, but they still suck for the most part.

And Pitrelli handles those Friedman solos rather well on the Rude Awakening dvd... Fuck, the guy had to fill the shoes of Criss Oliva, he better be pretty damn good.
Yeah, copying someone else isn't quite as imaginative in my book. Still, I guess the world always needs session players. :loco:

I admit his solo on Dread and the Fugitive Mind is amazing!!! And I even liked his work with Alice Cooper back in the day.....

Oh fuckit, I feel like a teenager again listening to this. It doesn't have that dated sound I was fearing, which is good. I mean it's obviously influenced by metal of years gone by (you know, the stuff he created himself :loco: ), but that's fine.

This rules. :kickass:

Haha no shit man. I think the last 15 reviews I've done were 8/10 scores. Except that Rwake thing. :yuk:

Dude, just use the decimals man. I think it's the best thing for everyone. There's a difference between 7.6 and 8.4 you know....

So how impressive is Chris Poland? I mean, seriously, that guy smokes....and 'truth be known' (arf arf), Mustaine has unleashed the fookin' fury too. Some of the trade off's take me right back to Hangar 18 or Go To Hell!!!!

Whatever, I've been reminded why the album kicks ass.

Pitrelli served his purpose, nuff said. Listen to the solos on that album and Savatage's "Dead Winter Dead." Excellent shit.

Yeah, that's a 7 and an 8 to me. :loco:

The solos rock. Chris Poland is my father!

Well, even bad 'Deth is still better than the common average, I agree.

Thing is, regardless of what people think of World Needs a Hero, it's still at the bottom of the heap when all things Megadeth, right?. I would be surprised if anyone ranked it higher than any of their other albums (except maybe Risk).

You don't know how much therapy I've needed since hearing Motopsycho. Just when "Breadline" sent me into manic depression, "Motopsycho" made me vomit turds.

I like both tracks. Breadline is one of the few songs on Risk I enjoy. I personally like the beat and chorus of Motopsycho, the traditional Mustaine sarcastic snarl is there.

And I like TWNAH more than Risk, and its up there with Cryptic Writings, Countdown, Youthanasia and definitely better than parts of So Far, So Good, So What

Gosh, so now that you've got System has Failed, how would you rank the Megadeth catalog (best to least-best)?

As of this moment in time my ranking of Megadeth is as follows

Rust In Peace

Peace Sells

The System Has Failed

Youthanasia

The World Needs A Hero

So Far, So Good... So What

Cryptic Writings (the original mix, w/ the intro to Use The Man)

Countdown To Extinction

Killing Is My Business...

Risk

Please don't tell me the remixed version took away the Needles and Pins intro...

Yeah, I heard that on the RiP re-release, Mustaine actually re-sang "Five Magics". That's like polishing gold with spit.

The ONLY remix I am vaguely interested in is the SFSGW, where they removed all flange/chorus from the guitar parts. Still, there's something endearing about the 'hollowness' of the original.

I guess I really want Killing is my Business (remastered) and the Rude Awakenings DVD.

GAY!!! I heard about how These Boots has a bunch of bleeps in it, but that's better than my CD version of Killing is my Business: the song isn't included. I used to have the Megaforce release on tape, or rather my friend did, but I used to kidnap it all the time. :tickled:

The KIMB is good. The RIP is odd, it is absolutely clear that some of the parts were rerecorded. These are the only remasters I have for which I also will never get rid of the originals. (I've got KIMB, PS, and RIP)
