Airged L'amh - The SIlver Arm

I need to give more time to Traveller, but Twilight kicked me square between the tits and Deadmen nearly did pretty quickly.

hahaha best possible result searching for "bitches" on Google:

If Hammers and Slough Feg were children, one would be the one who smoked weed, drank like a fish, and spent all his spare time playing RPGs, while the other would be the one who smoked weed, drank like a fish, and would be extremely well-liked in school despite having a reputation for bizarre behavior. :)

Got the promo for this today. Well, you can safely say, "hellride music" 'zine have one deranged reviewer if he thinks this sounds anything like Slough Feg..... :yuk:

@Demilich - I assume you've heard Hammers right?

Haha, never saw this before. I listened to part of The Bastard this morning, it sounded good... but just like another release I hard recently (Augury - Concealed) I would like it MUCH more without the female vocals, so I turned it off during the 3rd track.

The only tracks I really liked off The August Engine the first time I heard it were Rain and the intro. Hmm..

You may begin berating me now, JK.

Edit:
On the other hand.. I listened to Down Among the Deadmen today... and as usual, HOLY FUCKIN BALLS THAT SHIT IS AWESOME :)

"Hmm.." indeed. :erk: "The first time" you heard it? Damn, I hope you're not writing album reviews in your spare time. :tickled:

Speaking of which......

Ya, fuck that review.
You should post something to the site, or write an e-mail to the reviewer -- especially since you *bought* the album. I mean, I understand that you're not going to always agree with a review, but to say this sounds like Lord Weird Slough Feg is just retarded, and so very wrong. He may as well have said this sounded like Slayer because they both use distorted guitars. At minimal, he should consider editing the review for that specific band comparison....

I always *mean* to get back to ablums that don't hit me in the face the first time I hear them. I just have so many that I wanna hear, so little time!

I've found that's not necessarily true, unless it's something that's designed to work on a simple level, many albums that drew me in immediately have remained among my favorites.
Demilich: I don't mind your difference of opinion on HOM, especially since I had a typical WTF reaction to them at first, and it gives me yet another excuse to mention how awesome the segue between those two tracks is. :)

Albums that hit you in the face on first listen typically disappear quicker too, heh.

In my experience, this only happens if you listen to them 5935929 times a day after the initial hit in the face. the overexposure kills it, you drop it for a while and come back a few months later only to get fucking owned once again.

See my NP for a song from an album that kicked me square in the ol' family jewels the first time I heard it and proceeded to pummel me relentlessly until this very day without losing it's appeal!

Boy, was I wrong. Given my recent shifting of musical preferences, I revisited this album and it really is fucking amazing imho. It just doesn't stop. That review doesn't say that they sound like SLough Feg either btw.

this is the first of your cd-r's i'm plowing through doomy and it FUCKING RULES!

it kinda reminds me of the first two blind guardian discs with the speed metal parts, and some riffs are even thrash metal, but then it has this EPIC METAL type edge all over like manilla road or manowar and yeah it fucking rules
