I recently bought a Golden Age TC1 (tube condenser) which clipped and distorted the minus side of the wave (the valleys that is). I figured I'm not gonna be fucking around with tube gear when I'm clearly too "young" (I'd call it modern!) to understand tubes So I replaced the mic with a Supreme CU1 even though I was sort of planning on buying an AKG Perception 120.
I had never heard about the brand "Supreme" but hell, after inspecting the mic the build quality seemed to be very good. No rattling shit, very solid and heavy, the high pass and pad switches are very firm and got a nice feel to them. Enough talk, let's hear how they sound on a voice.

Since I didn't have the singer with me I had to do the test myself Not the prettiest voice in the universe but I think I screamed loud enough to test the mics at least. To my ears they sound very similar. I don't know how many of you know what a Perception 100 sounds like but if you want to try and differentiate them, go ahead
I'll reveal the results later anyway.
The important thing is that I solved the issue and now I can get back to work at least. We'll have to redo all vocals but finally I have a mic I can rely on and while it may not be the best mic in the world, it certainly will give me more detail to work with than an SM58 would give me.
