(center only)
Transformer less 57, i had the pro fire mic gain to 85-90%, right as it starts to get shrill. mic right on the grill

1. mesa v30 center
2. mesa v30 cone
3. mesa 75 center
4. mesa 75 cone
5. marshall 75 center
6. marshall 75 cone

Slight 3db shelf on the guitar buss.

Nice comparison. I'd like to hear a "guitar only" track.
Anyway the marshall is not that bad...maybe I like the marshall more than the mesa with t75's

I can get them for you

I'd take out some of the mids on the Marshall 75.

Another thing to consider are the Marshall speakers are 25+ years old.

I think I can get rid of the marshall

Nooo don't! To me the center mic'ed versions sounded all usable. The Marshall was maybe the most natural one. The Mesa 75 was a close second but it had that sizzle that some like and some hate.

Yeah guitar-only clips would probably be better than a dense mix like this and soundcloud sounds pretty bad in my opinion.

LOVING the 75 clips. The Marshall Center is THE Alexi tone, which I've always loved. Not caring for the V30 cone or the Marshall Cone, but the latter would mix well with the center of the same speaker.

Maybe a very early alexi tone. Seems a bit weak.

The red 1960a will be gone tomorrow and I'm picking up a 1960b. :yow:

Tell me about your bare neck RR24.
I'm thinking about doing the same to mine... How did you do it, just sand it down or did you use hot air, chemicals etc?
Thx

No chemicals around binding. Just sandpaper!
