I really need to listen to Forsaken. I'm sure I'd love them but I've never really given them a chance.

That's the only album I've heard, but while I enjoy it a lot I don't think they're essential. They're more polished and kind of on the Solitude Aeturnus side of epic doom, which is what I prefer but probably not those so much more into Pagan Altar.

Samothrace - Life's Trade. Stoner doom with crust influences.

^ SO MUCH THIS. was starting a death/doom band and really just completely changed my mind when I saw them at St. Vitus in Brooklyn.

The tone is crushing and the double vocals get me amped every time. The album flies by though once you get entranced

I love my epic doom just as much as Pagan Altar. Scald and Candlemass are easily some of the best doom metal ever.

But yeah, I'm listening to this again.
