This album would be about perfect if they dropped a couple of the short tracks (and combined the other ones that are like intros/outros into the appropriate songs).

One more Mortification post and I'll shut up (yes, I'm binging them today). I had to throw this on because today is the exact day 30 years ago when this album was released. Currently sitting at 7th on my list of Top Death Metal Albums of All Time.

I think the couple tracks at the beginning and at the end are a little weaker but the middle 2/3rds of this album are completely untouchable.

So many riffs! It is crazy that Cavalera also created those crapfests like Roots and all those Soulfly albums. What happened to him? Has another artist experienced such a decline in creativity and quality?

DIdn't they start to play more of a Groove/Thrash at some point though? I've seen Dark Ages has some higher marks.

I haven't listened to them in a while but Dark Ages and Conquer were better than the earlier Soulfly albums.
