Sophicide - Perdition of the Sublime

Imagine, if you will, tech death that actually gave a shit about riffs that had a melodic impact instead of just weedily weedilies. This is Sophicide. Meatier production and I'd call it the best tech death album I've heard thus far.

EDIT: HOLY FUCK THIS WAS RECORDED/PRODUCED BY ONE GUY IN HIS EARLY 20'S? FUCKING FFFFFFFWHAT.

Most of this album is kind of meh, but the first two full songs are so damn fucking fantastic that they make up for it. I always think of Ted Nasmith's painting of Eärendil in Tirion when I listen to them.
