Coroner - Punishment for Decadence

I'm in a rare thrash mood just lately.

In the mood for rare thrash, or your thrash moods are rare? ;)

Haha, yeah I could have worded that better. I'm in the mood for thrash lately, which is a rare occurrence.

It's no secret that it's one of my least preferred genres of metal, but I still do like quite a bit of it.

I love EHG but you can't go wrong with Through Silver in Blood. You probably
haven't listened to it for a long time, it's a top notch metal album. One of my all time fav for sure.

Eh, I remember it pretty well. Just not the kind of sludge that gets me going.

Already out from Fuck Yoga.

I just looked around and didn't see anything.

Edit: okay I see the link now, cheers.

get THE SKULL too.

And Run To The Light and self titled.

This seems so familiar to me but I cant place what this traditional doom band sounds like. anyone else want to take a stab at it?

Chryseis - Planet Dead

First impression, sounds like Pestilence's Spheres with more interesting and thrashier riffs, and a lot more thought put into the synths.

In fairness as the album went on the synths seemed to take a bit of a backseat, and the riffing became a little simpler, although I still enjoyed the whole thing. Could compare it to Cadaver's In Pains too.

Have you listened to these guys, Baroque? They're like a tech version of South of Heaven-era Slayer. Used to not like this album but it's been growing on me lately.

Loving the Hunter of the Twin Moons track. Exactly the style I was looking for tonight (see rec forum) I may buy it for this alone. Will check out the other rec later too. Thnx

[EDIT] Yeah this whole album is great.

Amazing prog metal. Some of the changes are completely jarringly progressive. 3:35 in particular, a whole discussion arose on youtube about that moment. I love how they bring it back at 10:15, and this time it flows seamlessly. Brilliant contrast.
