I really don't get why people rank that so low on the Thin Lizzy tier list. It's definitely my favorite. Those first 3 songs are straight fucking fire.

Do they? I always thought it was a fan favourite.

Not from what I've seen. People dig it I guess, but it's usually ranked middle of the road. I definitely think it's way better than Thunder and Lightning, which I see Lizzy fans rank as their best work...

Yeah it's pretty great. The title track is a top 10 power metal song for me. Shame they turned into a joke band. The sophomore is decent also but they decline pretty hard after that.

The third album, something Rampage or whatever, was the only full album by them I'd heard until now and yeah it's not so good.

Nah that ballad (third track iirc) sucked balls and I usually like ballads, it was too G'N'R/Bon Jovi ish for me. The rest did rule though.

My only gripe is the placement of the ballad. You have 4 killer songs that get you all excited and that track kills the mood of the album being the fifth one. Either put it at the end of omit it imo. By itself it isn't too terrible.
