Albums for ALL metal fans

Yeah, definately... it's one of my personal favorites. It's just one of those great rockin' albums with good songwriting, catchy hooks and sharp musicianship. Many people say the vocalist sounds like David Coverdale... but I don't think it's too overt. Basically, this album has a sound that is at once forward-thinking yet comfortably classic. It definately has a throwback feel... but it's still cutting edge. So that's why I think it should have a broad appeal.
I agree completely, the title track is terrific. definitely retro, but I really like the guitar player, he was in that Finnish band with Khan, who went on to Kamelot.

if you want to go totally retro, Thin Lizzy at its peak. Black Rose, Johnny the Fox, Bad Reputation...

Here's my picks.. I'm now 30 years old and have been into metal since the 80's. So all of the below albums I was into when they originally came out. I know GnR isn't metal, but man when it came out, it was brilliant.

Anthrax - Among The Living
Pantera - Vulgar Display of Power
Opeth - My Arms Your Hearse
Rage against the Machine - RATM
Korn - Korn
Metallica - Justice for All
Guns N Roses - Appetite for Destruction
Death - Scream Bloody Gore

I will not even acknowledge that these are quality albums -- hell, three of them aren't even metal. So...

GnR aren't metal? When I think back to a band that LIVED BREATHED AND SHAT METAL it was Guns n' fuckin' Roses.

That Pantera is great, even Phil-haters might enjoy Vulgar Display of Power because he wasn't really Phil back then. Some of my all time favorite riffs are on that album.

I like that Korn album, but no. In fact I'm probably one of maybe ... no, I'll bet I'm the only one that likes that album on this forum. :D

Guns 'n' Roses?

Metal?

No.

No.

Fuck that. Guns n' Roses = metal.

I don't care that their sound was more blues rock than anything, when I think back to who most epitomized the Sex Drugs and Rock n' Roll portion of the hair metal era, I think of GnR.

Hahahaha I love these pointless arguments. I think that comment wins it. :Spin:

I fucking love old Guns n' Roses, best hard rock band ever.

Slash died once near an elevator and was later resurrected (he pulled a Jesus), that's pretty metal.
