Albums that grow on you...

I don't think there is a band in history that I've given more of a chance to grow on me (since Dead Heart came out) and I still 'aint there yet.

Once I figured Dreaming neon Black out though it just slays to me now. Same with........

Bruce Dickonsons Chemical Wedding. Great fucking album but took a long time to appreciate.

I think Omnio took longer to get into than HotA for me. Both those albums are truly special.

One day I will get into Neurosis, I'm sure of it. I just need to find enough free time to dedicate some serious listening time.

Primordial - The Gathering Wilderness
Arcturus - The Sham Mirrors
Summoning - Oath Bound (at first, I didn't think it was that good, but then I realized that after many months of owning this album, compared to most of my cds, I still listen to it)

I ultimately found this to be too samey, but the choir bits still rule.

I was thinking about this a bit more, and thought of another one:

Sleep's Holy Mountain

I originally dismissed this as half-assed Sabbath worship with poor vocals but now I love every bit of it!

people dismiss Sheavy that way too  they very much have their own identity regardless of whether or not Steve sounds like Ozzy. He's not trying to, that's just his sound.:mad::mad::mad::mad:

I don't know if I'd ever believe he wasn't trying to sound like that. Even Ozzy was probably trying to sound like Ozzy after people responded so well to the first couple of albums.

edit: fuck, sHeavy's singer REAAAAAAAAALLLLLLY sounds like Ozzy. REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLY.

dudes who rule but sound like ozzy:
- wino
- liebling
- fondelius (awesome name too  )
- probably way more
edit#2: - ozzy

blah, it really doesn't matter i guess. though it does annoy me slightly that they really aren't given much of a chance.

They're a pretty good band in my books. To be honest, I could listen to 50 bands with Ozzy-ripoff vocals if they were all as good as the ones with the singers I mentioned above.

Liebling of course. Wino i don't think he sounds much like Ozzy, and i have no clue who Fondelius is heh.

Steve Hennessey (Sheavy) is awesome though.

Wino, like Liebling, sounds a lot like him sometimes and nothing like him at others.

Dan Fondelius sings on the Count Raven albums after "Storm Warning." Only one I've ever heard by them, unfortunately.

ohhh ok, i had a Count Raven album years ago... no no... Internal Void i think it was. I can't remember what either sound like anymore though hah.

Summoning took me fucking forever to get into. I ended up only having 3 CD's for a week to listen to, Summoning - Stronghold, Summoning - Oath Bound, and Scar Symmetry. I ended up listening to Scar Symmetry once, and then listening to Summoning the rest of the week, and toward the middle of the week, they finally clicked. Great fucking band.
