Looking to get one of these to save on inputs in the stagebox and figured one of these would be just the ticket.
Anyone got some input if one is better than the other in terms of accuracy of triggering?
I think I've read that some guys think the D4 has better sounds than the DM5? I've got plenty of drum samples though so this isn't as important to me as the accuracy of the triggering.

If it's just converting to MIDI I've never had an issue using a DM5 for that purpose. Never used a D4 though. The sounds are bleh from the DM5, IMO, ok for live shows but I wouldn't want any of that shit in a mix.

My DM4 i had also didn' t have MIDI parameters so used to mis fire like a bitch, had to run a MIDI Converter before hand to control the threshold and the X-Talk etc

i used a dm5 for years to do exactly that. but since nuendo now has a nice feature to do this (and it works much better) i sold it a while ago.

Been just connecting the triggers to my mic inputs previously but gonna use this to save a few inputs on my stagebox so I can get more mic's up.

Managed to get myself a DM5 on ebay for £24 the other day. Needs a power supply but still a bargain! :D
