Ah... I'd say Children of Bodom are a fucking killer mix of melodic death, black metal, death metal, thrash and power metal... however, mainly melodic death. That's my opinion at least.

i think Therion is more like Symphonic Metal, they have real orchestras and choirs and stuff... CoB wouldn't really fit there

I don't think it has to do with the instruments..... just with the way they play and the instruments they play... In a very symphonic way.
