I agree, I think Jani writes better solos than Alexi, he puts more feeling into his playing, something I think Alexi lacks in his solos. Also overall his ability seems to be at a higher level than mr. laiho.

That might be true, but Jani has a shittier sound. :p (opinion)

the cutaway doesn't give any more access to the frets than a jackson, if you look at the ESP the fretboard starts further into the body than the 24 fret jacksons.

THANK YOU. I am glad somebody else has noticed this too.

There is one thing I dont get about Jani... he is super technical and shreds like crazy but his vibrato is extremley bad, thats kind of weird. It ruins his playing and its so annoying

It seems that nowadays some of you don't like anything related to COB anymore. First it was AYDY, now its Laiho. Kind of sad.

Jani Liimatainen of Sonata Arctica uses Ibanez, and in my opinion he can shred better than alexi

But I don't think that has anything to do with him playing Ibanez, he'd probably play just as well on a Jackson or Gibson or ESP or etc. Steve Vai plays Ibanez and he's still on a planet by himself.

The body is also roughly a 1/4 inch bigger all around than the jackson RR body.

yes i've noticed that as well, but that doesn't change that the fretboard starts around the same width in, the upper frets are still hard to reach even with the "cutaway".

how come its so much bigger, is it more balanced than a jackson RR?

btw i aint got a clue if neck thru jackson RRs are balance i just know my rr3 aint
