Yep, I've decided that it's time we post our top 5 albums of all time. :)

Painstakingly put in order:

1- Black Sabbath -- Paranoid
2- Dream Theater -- Scenes From a Memory
3- Megadeth -- Rust in Peace
4- Iron Maiden -- Piece of Mind
5- Queensryche -- Operation: Mindcrime

I'm not sure of the order, but here are five albums I would not like to part with.

Live After Death - Iron Maiden
Heaven and Hell - Black Sabbath
The Headless Children - W,A,S,P
Low - TestAmenT
Greatest Hits - Motley Crue Not really an album, but it's fantastic anyway

:)

Something Wicked This Way Comes - Iced Earth
Horror Show - Iced Earth
God Hates Us All - Slayer
Rise - Hair Of The Dog
New Jersey - Bon Jovi
Slave To The Grind - Skid Row

Yeah I know thats 6......... ;)

I saw you mention these guys in another thread, but I wasn't part of the convo, so I didn't pay much attention. :)

Never heard any of their material, what are they like??

Imagine all the best parts of van halen, kiss, bon jovi and wasp and you have that album :D The other 2 they have done are fantastic as well, but Rise is unbelievably good :D

Yep theres a few on the spitfire records site which I dont know the address off at the moment, but its probably www.spitfirerecords.com or something, but bear in mind they didnt pick any of the really good stuff for the samples (for some stupid reason)

mine would probably be

Strapping Young Lad-City
Testament-The Gathering
Ocean Machine-Biomech
Fantomas-Directors cut
The Haunted-The Haunted made me do it

thats hard listing just 5

I've heard many a good thing about this album, but have no idea what it's like.
Help me out a little..

Are we talkin strictly studio albums, or Live as well? I'll do both:

Studio:
Dream Theater: SFAM
Dream Theater: Awake
Liquid Tension Exp 2
Transatlantic: Bridge across Forever
Deep Purple: Fireball

Live:
Dream Theater: Live Scenes from NY
Deep Purple: Made in Japan
Deep Purple: Total Abandon
Rainbow: Live in Germany 76
Iron Maiden: LAD

Hmm.......... Looks like I am in a really Dream Theaterish mood today...... then again, that doesn't really differ much from any other day! MU-HAHAHAHAHA.

I would describe it as say get slayer, and take their speed and stuff, then get testament from the demonic album, and take out all their heavyness, and mix em. and it would probably sound a little different to the haunted, but it's pretty damn close.

it's just good ol fashioned thrash metal without clean vocals. Just go buy either one of the haunted cd's,they'e both damn good

In no particular order:

Megadeth - Rust in Peace
Megadeth - Countdown to Extinction
Metallica - Master of Puppets
Ozzy Osbourne - Blizzard Of Ozz
Dream Theater - Scenes From A Memory
In Flames - Colony

Hey, if Spawny can have 6, then I can have 6 :p

Narrowly missing out on my Top 5 (err... 6) would be...

Sepultura - Arise
Iron Maiden - Powerslave
Ozzy Osbourne - Tribute

You cant have 6 unless you include an Iced Earth album :D

Again in no particular order:

Iron Maiden - Somewhere in Time
Iced Earth - Night of the stormrider
Blind Guardian - Tales from the twilight world
Queensryche - Operation: Mindcrime
Dream Theater - Scenes from a memory
Opeth - Orchid

Iron Maiden - Piece Of Mind
WASP - WASP
Demons & Wizards - Demons & Wizards
Dio - Holy Diver
Alice Cooper - Trash

That's what comes to mind now...

Also just missing out:
Judas Priest - Painkiller (Havent heard it all yet which is the only reason it's not in my top 5.... the 7 or so tracks I've heard are the most perfect metal EVER!)
Def Leppard - Pyromania
Warrant - Cherry Pie
Black Sabbath - Paranoid
Kiss - Rock N Roll Over
Motley Crue - Shout At The Devil

:D

In No particular order:

Ice Age - The Great Divide
Iron Maiden - Seventh Son
Dream Theater - IAW
LTE - LTE
Pain Of Salvation - Perfect Element Part 1.

I could easily interchange any of these with a number of others. 5 is just not enough...
