Perfect Albums

Yeah the way I found out about them is because they replaced their old bass player with the warr guitarist from BTA. I actually got to play pool with those guys at a show and it rocked

Blotted Science is sick sick sick you have to listen to it

I'm glad to see so many people appreciate A Sceptics Universe. Most of what I have read from people is that it's too complex and "inorganic". I think it's the exact opposite. The entire album gives me goosebumps. Complete work genius/art!

A Sceptic's Universe...I don't get it...then again...maybe just not my thing...the vocals alone are horrible, IMO...reminds me of Fates Warning...just meandering with no real focus. Sorry...again...just my opinion...not putting down anyone that enjoys it or the band itself...just saying I don't get it...maybe I'll try again since it seems to be highly regarded here.

Children of Bodom - Hatebreeder
Fate - Scratch N Sniff
Soilwork - A Predators Portrait
Mr. Big - Lean Into It
Annihilator - Set The World On Fire
Yngwie Malmsteen - Oddysey

Racer X - Street Lethal
Stevie Ray Vaughan - Texas Flood
King's X - Gretchen Goes To Nebraska
Dokken - Under Lock N Key
Dream Theater - Images And Words

in random order

probably forgot something, but that's what jumps to mind. All albums where I love every single song almost equally.

I don't like the singing either. If you can get past the vocals it's pretty good. Which is why I like blotted science so much because it's all instrumental.

Rare are the albums that are perfect imo, but here's a few close to it:

Ayreon - The Final Experiment
Lynch Mob - Lynch Mob (HUGE guitar work on this one by George Lynch, very diversified. I'm just disappointed with the vocals)
Scar Symmetry - Holographic Universe
Shawn Lane - Power of Ten
Symphony X - TDWoT and V
Van Halen - Van Halen
White Lion - Pride (Then again, vocals aren't amazing, but some of the best guitar work ever to me)

Megadeth - Rust in peace is growing on me atm. Might add this one to the list one day.

Agalloch - The Mantle, Ashes Against the Grain
Atheist - Unquestionable Presence
Augury - Concealed
Cynic - Focus and Traced in Air

That one guy and I think he's died now and was also the vocalist, had one slick guitar technique

Great "short" list Jeff

Hughie Thomasson, or something like that....Passed away last year or the year before if I remember right...They were a GREAT live band, and when they toured with Molly Hatchet, it was one of the best rockin' live shows I have seen....
