I'd like to hear what you think are "perfect" albums. I'm not talking about classic albums, or must-have albums, or even great albums. I'm talking about albums that don't put one note wrong. Every song is strong on its own, and as a whole the album just works.

Here's what I can think of:

Queensryche - Operation: Mindcrime
Evergrey - The Inner Circle
Evergrey - In Search of Truth
Blind Guardian - NiME
Cea Serin - Where Memories Combine
Fates Warning - APSoG
Iced Earth - The Glorious Burden disc 2 - Gettysburg
Symphony X - V
Symphony X - The Odyssey

So a perfect example of what is not a perfect CD would be (for me) Iced Earth's The Dark Saga. It's a freaking awesome CD if taken as a whole, but there is a song or two on there that I don't absolutely love.

Iron Maiden - Somewhere In Time
Iron Maiden - Number Of The Beast
Evergrey - Solitude Dominance Tragedy
Iced Earth - Burnt Offerings
Sonata Arctica - Ecliptica
Saturnus - Paradise Belongs To You
Saturnus - Martyre

Dan Swano - Moontower
Edge Of Sanity - Crimson
Blind Guardian - NiME
Blind Guardian - Somewhere Far Beyond
Edguy - Vain Glory Opera
Stratovarius - Dreamspace
Bolt Thrower - Mercenary
Arena - Peppers Ghost
Savatage - Hall Of The Mountain King

Those are a few off the top of my head. I'd need to look through stuff to get a better number. Cause I know I'm missing something.

Many great albums for sure listed here, but I can't help but think that the thread topic has morphed into more of the same old "list your favorite albums of all time" thread. Very, very few albums for me fit the definition of "perfect" - hell, even my "desert island" album list is probably more than 3 times as long. That said:

Opeth - Morningrise
Metallica - Ride the Lightning
Queensryche - Operation: Mindcrime
The Beatles - Abbey Road

Jason

Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon & The Wall
Queensryche - Mindcrime
Metallica - Master of Puppets
the Beatles - White Album

That's what I was thinking as I was reading the replies.

I actually did the opposite. Many of my favorites CDs have songs I don't care for. So, I didn't list those here. Instead, what I listed are discs that do not have a single song I don't enjoy.

The Beatles - Abbey Road
If I could make a list of every thing that's overrated (bands, books, cars, TV shows, movies, super models, etc.) and combine them into one general list of everything that's more overrated than everything else that's overrated, the Beatles would be the most overrated thing, of every overrated thing, in the history of overration (<--- my new word).

EDIT: grammatically correct sentences = vastly overrated
