Am I the only one who does not really like The Archaic Course

I like Ad Noctum ( It has a certain power metal vibe) , but Empiricism is the best.

It's the only Borknagar album I've got. I think it is decent. Some dead tracks and a bunch of good ones. Plus one excellent one (Ocean's Rise). Overall I would give it about 7/10. Its alright.

It HAS piqued my interest in Borknagar though. I'm getting Empircism VERY soon.

The Olden Domain was my first, from the looks of this, i put The Archaic Coarse off till later.

I didn't reallty like it at the begging but after a few hours of listening I loved it. Great Atmosphere! As for Vortex, he's a good vocalist. I Like Vintersorg better. As A musician too!

Yeah see I had heard oceans rise and loved it so archiac course was my first borknagar record. I just feel like really as a song and the arrangement itself is exceptional and that none of the other tracks have it nailed down. I think they were still finding their sound to perfect for the followup and then to make more progressive in empiricism. I think Borknagar are at their peak at the moment and cannot wait for the next record.

I love this album. My favorite songs on it are Universal, the Black Token, and Ad Noctum. Oceans Rise is really good too, but I don't like it as much as these. I'm a huge Vortex fan...why did one of you say he was self-righteous?

I think Oceans Rise is fantastic but feel after that it goes downhill. I also think while Vortex's vocals are good they did reach their potential until the next album... who agrees...

But from the other side, Archaic Course is not a bad album and in sum I like it.
