i cant do this because i dont have 2 of the same amp but...

if i plugged into my 6505 on the lead channel and had my bass on 9, mids on 9 and treble on 9, then i took the preamp out and plugged into another 6505 on the lead channel and put my bass to 3, mids to 3 and treble to 3 would they cancel each other out? when i output to my cab?

many of you are prob thinking what the fuck is wrong with me but well curiosity killed the cat!

yeah, that was posted here. i think 2 5150s the 1st with clean channel, second one green channel. kinda like using a ts. but in no way woul;d they cancell each other out, i dont think, then again not to sure what is meant by "cancel out"

Yeah dude, I'm sorry but that might be one of the dumbest things I've ever read - and besides, since the 5150 has a passive eq, all it can do is cut, therefore 3 is just more cut than 9. Even on an amp with an active eq, such as the XXX/JSX (and I think Rectos, among others no doubt), there are way too many other factors. And more importantly, who the hell cares?!

I always respect it when someone tries new, weird things out of curiosity, but...

No. Been there, done that many centuries ago with Marshall heads, it sounds shite.
A 6505 with a maximiser and decent cabs sound plenty big enough without having to slave or rune two heads.

I thought about something similar to this some time ago and decided to have a go at cancelling out sound using 2 heads and cabs. I got 2 6505's and 2 Mesa Cabs. I used exactly the same settings on both heads. I faced the cab's towards each other BUT I reversed the phase on the speakers in one of the cabs. It took a while but I finally placed a mic in between the 2 cabs in the right spot and recorded the result. There is still a little bit of sound but it's close to being gone. It can be heard here:
