On the first song of Anathema's The Silent Enigma they fuck up the lyrics because he constantly says "My inamorato" which is actually masculine, whereas if they were talking about women they should say "my inamorata" and I'm pretty sure they're not homosexuals.

I only own Dance of December Souls and Alternative 4 so I don't feel well-versed enough in either band's work to vote.

I prefer Anathema and have to say that they are one of my fav bands. Alternative 4 especially rocks in my opinion. However, having said that I have only got Katatonia's "Dance of December Souls" so can't judge all that much between the two bands.
