my favourite (and hyena's, we played it together for a while) is trial by fire. i never even finished the last one: noone can do adventure games anymore.

On a sidenote, www.tierraentertainment.com are working on a VGA remake of Trial by Fire, keeping the storyline completely intact and unchanged, just updating it. Looks good, and if you're interested, they have already remade Kings Quest 1 and 2, which are both very good
