The store for which I have a gift certificate doesn't have the biggest selection. I've narrowed it down to a Seagull or an Alvarez, I think. Does anyone know which are better, or know anything about either at all?

I've heard good things about Seagull but havent tried one.

i had an Alvarez. It was pretty nice. It was my cousin's old guitar. so it wasn't in the best shape, but I thought it played well.
Alvarez are generally better, unless its a very nice Seagull. I would most definitely buy the Alvarez though, I've loved almost every model I have played.

I own an Alvarez. It rules. I've gotten lots and lots of compliments over the years for both sound and playability.

not necessarily that. we hear you fine at practice, when it gets down the faggy "turn your volume up as loud as you can and use those levels" kinda shows, it's when things suck, because then, ian can't hear us, and we have to put the amps closer to him. at shows where you DONT have to turn your levels all the way up, it's godly. watch on May 20

There is only like 3 Ovations, maybe, and they're all out of my price range.
Most people here like Alvarez so I'll really focus on those when I go tomorrow to buy.
