Anthrax.com and the reunion

"well that´s the different case because....Metallica just went another direction musically. "

...wasnt the point of St. Anger for Metallica to get back to their roots.

But if the reunion thing is true, Anthrax is doing something which is lot worse, in my humble opinion

...just like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Kiss. Look how shitty it was for those bands. And I dont understand where you think this reunion is not true. Scott posted on this board (as Mr Wu) that there was a reunion. Shows are being booked, and promoted as the reunion tour.

Yeah, and how is a covers album thart includes the re-release of older, hard to find covers "selling out"?

B/C it also contains a lot of shitty ass new covers. I hate the way those motorhead covers turned out. Hetfield can not sing for shit anymore.

I almost agree, but shouldn't songs you cover either be something that influenced you or that you find cool? The band admitted that nobody in Metallica had ever heard "Turn the Page" until Bob Rock asked them to cover it for the album.

I found the 1st disc and 2nd disc to be such a contrast and really highlighted the changes in direction that Metallica had gone. The 2nd disc is easily the best thing that Metallica has released in 15 years, and sadly it was all originally released prior to that.

Are you kidding? Metallica are the biggest sellouts going, hell Lars is a bigger sellout as an individual than the whole of Anthrax. Did you forget Load, Re-Load, St. Anger, Garage Days Re-re-rerevisited(or what ever its called)

AMEN Couldn't have said it better myself!

The Motorhead covers were from a live gig they did as 'The Lemmys'. It was for lemmys b-day or sum shit. It was released in europe w/ a few sigles off of 'Load' and a poster of them in Lemmy garb w/ Lemmy flipping the bird ."Motorheadache" was embossed across the front....

Anyhoo, Hetfield has always sounded like shit live.

No, the Motorhead covers were from the rehearsals for Lemmy's birthday party. The actual show is only available as an audience recorded bootleg.

I went and dug it out of storage and I'll be damned, you're right. Still, they aren't "studio polished" vocals.
