Can someone recommend me some abstract metal. Something more than just death metal or thrash or etc...I love Maudlin of the Well, Opeth, Cynic, Ephel Duath, Isis, Kayo Dot... I need more music....Can also someone recommend me a good Neurosis album? Thanks peeps.

Check these out if you haven't already:

Cult of Luna
Amorphis
Agalloch
Arcturus
Fleurety
The Meads of Asphodel
Sigh
Hollenthon

My personal favorite Neurosis album is Souls at Zero, but all of their albums are well worth owning.

Does "abstract" in this context mean "not easy listening" stuff played on a technically high level?

If yes, I suggest:
Watchtower
Sieges Even
Mekong Delta
Atrox (especially their album "Terrestrials")
Psychotic Waltz´ debut "A Social Grace"
perhaps also some stuff by Voivod ("Dimension Hatröss", "Nothingface")

Early neurosis, has sort of a punk edge to it. Through SIlver In blood is damn good, tribal/industrial vibe, times of grace is a bit moe experimental, and the sun that never sets fits together quite well as a cohesive whole.

Abstract metal- hm arcturus hasnt been mentioned, dodheimsgard, bethlehem, try some early Cave In as well. I lll think of more when i look at some of my cds.

Imaginary Sonicscape by Sigh. I also recommend Estradasphere's 'Buck Fever' and 'Quadropus.' Both not WHOLLY metal, but some tracks of each are metal.

Try Elend sort of a modernist demented metal orchestra.

Oh and try OHM, CHris Poland's band, unbeliveable fusion jazz/metal.

Other than what has been mentioned already....

Mar De Grises
Warhorse
Bohren Und Der Club of Gore
Pelican (I know they have already been mentioned)
Until Death Overtakes Me
Sleep
Unburied
Tribes of Neurot
Today is The Day - Sadness Will Prevail (You want abstract? You got it! AbstractHate)
5ive Continuum Research Project
Buckethead
Devil Doll
Esoteric
Fantomas
Mr. Bungle
Nuclear Rabbit
Ozric Tentacles
Early Porcupine Tree
Peccatum
Radiation 4
Spastic Ink
The Mars Volta
Ulver
Zaraza
Vidnaobmana

Theres a bit from every genre almost....cheers
