Any of you in a band?

I'm just forming an unnamed-as-of-yet band featuring other ex-members of the best extreme bands in the city. True melodic death ala early-At The Gates (no N*Flames faggotry), mixed with Zyklon/Myrkskog inspired brutal death, a little hyper-technical death/grind like Cryptopsy, some epic black metal like mid-90s Emperor and Satyricon, and just a touch of good American groove metal like the better parts of the most recent Lamb Of God.
So in other words, you're forming a metalcore band.

Also i have other things going on(seeing as people are posting about many bands they're in)

I have a small keyboard ambient thing i've done for fun

http://www.soundclick.com/bands/1/shadowofdeath.htm
The only song on their is a more orchestrated piece done by one person.

I also have a band which fuses death metal, prog/experimental music, thrash metal(in the vain of metallica and megadeth with a bit of testament and slayer typed stuff), etc.

And over the summer me, my girlfriend, and a guy i met online want to try a triple guitar, triple vocal goregrind/death metal thing. No name decided. This one like Shadow of Death is more for fun. If it works out we might release a demo or something but we don't expect to do much and become a full established touring band type thing. More a fun little project where we can all jam and write music. The friend of mine i met online was looking for people to jam with and stuff and enjoys death metal and me and my girlfriend wanted to start a band together so here we'll try it all out.

It's more a hobby of mine to write music so whenever i feel up to it this is what i do write music.

I make my own music(with the name "Caelum Adustum"), I made a demo back in April but I really don't like it much anymore. I'm working on my next demo right and what I have written thus far is sort of a mixture of Judas Iscariot, Sargeist, Watain, Forest of Impaled and Sarcophagus.

Yeah, dickbag, that's exactly what I was saying. I always see tons of mallcore kids in Myrkskog shirts, listening to Red In The Sky In Ours, don't you?

What keyboard did you use for the instrumental? It's like the soundtrack to an early 80s slasher flick.

haha yeah it does! The first song is very cool, but I can't at all dig the instrumental. Its just me though..

I've got a band, but it doesn't have any 20-note tech riffs, clean vocals or emotive melodies, so none of you poofs would like it.

Anyway, I've got a couple of projects, not realy active, but since everyone's mentioning everything, I'll do the same.

Was in a melodic thrash band called Existence. Boring as hell. No longer.

Starting a death metal band called Desecrated Purity. Nothing happening yet... slow start.

Doing a solo black metal project called Infinite Abyss. Slowly writing material, nothing recorded.

Working with some realy talented guys, trying to get a black/death metal band started... something like Dissection or The Legion. All talk, no action yet.

Hahahahah, awesome.

ChaoticManifesto: my initial reaction to that description was "eww"; nonetheless, I'd be interested to hear it so hurry up recording/hosting some clips =)

Haha... All of us in the band listens to Opeth. I have my roots deep in jazz and brutal death with a little bit of 70s prog like Camel, Jethrotull, etc and I happen to be the main songwriter. The other guitarist just so happens to worship Opeth(abit of a fanboy so I always get into arguments with him) and listens to Tool and classical. The vocalist is into death metal, and world music and he plays the didgeridoo. We're working around to fit that in. The bassist/keyboardist is the most versatile, he likes alot of rock bands and the only metal he listens to is Opeth, Blind Guardian and Iron Maiden but he's been playing violin for 8 years and knows a good deal of music theory which'll help us along the way. The drummer plays everything, but mainly any kind of metal, influenced by Gene Hoglan. Over all, it'd be interesting to see what we actually come up with. Heh...

I play bass in two bands:

Exciter and Chaos Incorporated

To hear an Exciter tune, click the banner below to go to the page with a link to the song "Violence And Force"

Cheers!

Funny, I feel the complete opposite. I think the "black metal" one is horrendous.

The production sucks, horribly- and its not exactly played with complete grace, but it has good ideas.

I play guitar in Forcefed Flesh (notice the sig), we just released our first ep this month. The site is www.forcefedflesh.com
BTW xxCMxx, what the hell is a didgeridoo?

A didgeridoo is an indigenous Australian instrument that Australian Native Aboiriginals play. It's mainly a wind instrument that's mainly used to mimick the sounds of the outback, but it's actually used alot to keep rhythm. I'm sure if you heard one, you'd recognise the sound. It's very unique :)
