any Stratovarious fans here?

dunno how could I missed this thread, as I listen to some of Stratovarious for a long time now, especially songs from Elements pt1 and Destiny albums.

But sadly still got no time to got more into them :(
 
Old Strato rules!!!!

But I kinda got a little bit disappointed when I saw them live in Oslo some months ago. I didn't like their new stuff. IMHO they tried to sound like Symphony X when they're not... (Symphony X rulez the Earth btw :headbang: ).

Anyways, the rest of the gig when they were playing their old stuff was like an orgasm!!
 
\m/ \m/ In my mind I say you go out and get Visions and Infinite. They are kick ass albums :headbang:.
 
Statement: The Future of Stratovarius by Timo Tolkki

"I am in the process of talking seriously with each band member about the future of Stratovarius.

There are lots of rumours circling around and this statement is issued to clear some of those.

The band is in a severe crisis at the moment.

Looking back now, it is very clear to me why the situation has catapulted into crisis.

I have my own way to lead Stratovarius and since being in this band since 84 (almost 20 years) I have had a very clear vision about the musical direction of Strato. To put it short and simple, this is my band.
I decide what Stratovarius sounds like. Stylists might decide how Stratovarius looks like. I don´t give a fuck about that though, I love music and we are not some fucking Backstreet Boys. We eat metal and shit chains.

Before some of you start shouting "dictator", I would like to tell you that we have always shared the income from the band equally. Everyone gets the same from all income. I can tell you many bands when it´s not like this.

Up until very last weeks I though things were fine, there have been arguments, but nothing fancy. At this point I feel that my vision of where to take Stratovarius next is threatened. Along with many other things, which I cannot tell you due to legal reasons. Let me just say this: when the things get so heated that some people in the band enter into fistfight, then something is wrong, wouldn´t you agree?

I am talking with Kotipelto and Kainulainen here in Finland at the moment and next week I fly to New York to talk to Johansson. Then I fly to Germany to talk to Michael. And then I have to think.

So you guys have to wait for some more time for some more news.

At this point it seems 95% sure that 3 bandmembers have to leave. I really hope I can work things out with them, but if not, then they will have to go.

And to those who say I should leave Stratovarius I say, hmmm well, perhaps it´s better that I don´t say anything, so I just say Fuck Off! I am not leaving anywhere, we just signed this new deal and I am going to continue writing new songs and there will be more albums, no matter what the line up
will be.

I hope that everybody has brains to leave Timo. Timo is selfish and stupid. Just like Yngwie. I hope allu will ever become an ..... like tolkki. Sorry for saying this but its my opinion.

In a way yes, in a way no. With the price of an internet connection you could buy 3 cds per month :p People aren't willing to pay money to make music. Therefore they must be supported.

Besides, where's your logic? If someone is poor he's allowed to take everything for free?

Good point :p Well maybe they shouldn't buy the 65$ COB necklace then :p I myself spend pretty much 100% of the little money I get on CDs.
 
Shadeg has a point. If i had a band that sells cd:s, but not so much that i`d be rich (like cob, norther) i would be pissed off if someone would download my music from net, and i would have to go to normal work because of that. Its different if its some fucking whore who has so much money that will ever run out of it, i dont wanna name anyone (britney "sniff" spears, justin timberlake (is see shes a lady), christina) and all. And if its a rap artist, you should NOT ever buy the music, if you wanna throw up you can just do something else. But fuck metallica. They have money.



So my point was, if youre poor, you must listen to Britney Spears :D

I didn't say that. But when you say that they don't deserve music if they don't have money, i thought about people who live in extreme poverty and die because of starvation. Do you think that they don't deserve to eat?

No because eating is different. It's something you need to survive. Music is luxury. Do you think all the starving men deserve five ferraris and a huge mansion?
 
Well, i think that most of rich people don't deserve it, either. Many times people who work more or work harder have lower salaries. I mean, wealth distribution is not very fair. 10% of people have 80% of wealth in the world.
But what the hell, you were talking about internet, downloading, etc, not about this, so i better shut up

It's ok to download music. If you do it to hear new bands and make up your mind about them, and then go and buy their albums, if you like them. That's how I do it, at least, as far as I can afford it. I already have some 220 originals in my collection, and only two burnt cds, which I have later bought the originals for.

Anyway, it's ok to download to hear, and then buy their albums. Or if they only have one good song :p
