Yes, I realise that. As I said, I was pointing out black metal's shortcomings, not saying it was an entirely worthless genre (though I may have mistakenly implied that). Obviously there's a place for catchy music and a place for 'noisy' music; I was just trying to put things in perspective, since I don't find a lot of that in most of the metal discussions here. It gets a little frustrating for me since my tastes are so different from nearly everyone else's here.

Hmm... I guess I did start generalising my original criticism of specific bands into a criticism of the genre as a whole. My bad.
