In the last couple weeks, a few users have banned me for seemigly no reason, and some of them had files that I have found no one else sharing. I was only downloading one CD at a time, and I share tons of files, all organized by band and CD. So they really had no reason to ban me. Has this happened to anyone else?

its just people tat are gay about sharing. like they'll share their files but then when someone that doesnt have something they wants tries to download off them they ban them, so they dont have to deal with people constantly restarting downloads. it happens all the time. oh, and whats your Slsk ID?

SLSK is full of cunts. If I get banned, I usualy question the person who banned me, and a majority of the time I get a fucking poor excuse like "You're sharing Sepultura so you're a mallcore poser"

DC++ is so much better and you can't be banned by individual people (from the hub, yeah, but it's easy to follow the rules).

Sometimes people get banned because they are only sharing with people on their list, and if you are trying to d/l from someone not on your list and they can't see your files, they might get pretty upset and ban you.
You can see the files of people that are not on your list. I look at the files of people that are not on my list all the time. One thing I thought of, is that people with a shitty connection may get their connection slowed down even more when someone is downloading from them.

I could never get DC++ to work on my computer. For some reason, I can never view other people's files with it.
Hmm... I remember having this problem. You've got to change your settings... change your connection type from "Active" to "Passive" or something like that.

You can set yourself to "list only" so only people on your list can see your files. Perhaps your computer did this by default, and that's why you get banned from time to time. Check that out. Otherwise, some people are just assholes.

yeah, when people ban you. just give em a rant. they'll normally say "I just formatted my computer" or something half-assed like that, try and work out a trade of songs if you really want something from them

Yeah I got banned by one or two people, all of which were just losers trying to give the image of being elite.

For you DC++ users, as far as quantity and more finding more obscure stuff goes, how does DC++ compare to Soulseek?
