Anyone else as stoked on this thing as me?

In fact, they actually advise kids against getting a 3DS because the 3D effects apparently aren't all that great for developing eyes.

The 3D stuff is too much of a fad for me. They've been trying to ram those 3D TVs down peoples throats, and they don't sell either. Some legion of NES fanboys will jump on this initially, but I bet they just go back to something else after a while.

I actually just sold a DS Lite that rarely got played. Things like iPhones have taken a big chunk out of the dedicated game market. Why lug two things around when you only need one.

Rec got a 3D TV recently. I think it's stupid, but I have no control over the donations we get at work. I am a lowly CCW who has to deal with the reprecussions of some of the issues these donations can cause, though. Recently many of the units got touch screen computers. Our kids don't really need touch screen computers, but they have them. I'm actually pretty surprised they haven't trashed them in a fit of rage, yet.

You do realize that the majority of videogames nowadays are not necessarily for kids, right?

You DO realize they make plenty of kid-friendly games, right?

I hate 3D. I only saw one movie in 3D ever. I saw Avatar in 3D and I had searing pain in my eyes for about 8 hours.

However the 3DS has a 3D slider control where you can choose how much 3D effect you want (including zero effect). I will definitely demo before buying but they are remaking Zelda Ocarina of Time (my favorite game of all time) for this so if the demo doesn't hurt my eyes then I will get this solely for Ocarina of Time.

I mean, the big reason why those things are stupid is because of the glasses, but 3DS doesn't require glasses!!! Though, 3D TVs aren't necessarily a waste because they also double as excellent HD TVs!

Yeah I've hardly used my 3DTV only have 1 movie, and Crysis 2 for the 360 supports 3D just havent tested it yet.

With that said yeah its a damn solid tv, movies look great on it, at 240hz I turn off the anti jutter settings and this thing handles all the action movies thrown at it.
