Lol, yeah, that Kung Fu moshing is always weird. It makes me laugh. Not as much as the shuffle-dance some of those kids do though. That's just lame as hell looking.
I always used to mosh at shows, but not anymore. I found out that when I moshed I missed too much of the show, too much of the performance. When I go to a show now I wanna see the band playing, I wanna be able to concentrate on the music and the band and what they are doing, and I can't do that when I'm concentrating on kicking ass/getting my ass kicked. Lol.
So now I try to get to shows early enough to get a good spot close to the stage, against it when possible. Then I can just sit there and watch the show and headbang and all that.
My coolest Mosh incident was at local show when I lived in San Angelo, Texas. A local death metal band called Neuroaxis, they always had a lot of the local death metal fans at their show, and always got a big pit going in these tiny little clubs.
They used to play at a coffee shop called the Symposium, a real cool place that was only open at night, really good coffee, and a huge variety of bands that played their tiny stage. Neuroaxis accidentally broke some of their lights cause the ceiling was so low lol.
Anyway they had a habit of playing Sepultura songs in their live show, especially Territory. And they had a big crowd one night, and went into Territory and the whole place went fucking nuts, so I went into the mosh pit, and some HUGE guy smashed into me, literally threw me really high up into the air and all the way out of the pit. I crashed down into one of their tables. It was one of those tables that folded in half, so as I fell on it it folded on me and hit the ground lol. I jumped right back up and into the pit lol.
Later I was sore and bruised as hell but it was cool. At another show, somebody was talking to me and a friend about "That dude that got thrown into the table." Lol.
