anyone know of a brand of guitar strings with a non-wound G string

Changing to a heavier gauge definitely requires keeping an eye on your Truss Rod. It is easy to adjust, but you'll need to do a quick internet search for it. If you start to hear excessive string buzzing, you might need to adjust it.

ehhh... honestly for people who don't know anything about truss rods, I would recommend that they just get it done at a shop. it's cheap, plus you can totally fuck up your guitar if you're a novice at such things (as I am).
