Anyone used the Focusrite Voicemaster Pro?

I saw some of the features on it including Class A Mic Preamp, Expander, Vintage Harmonics, Compressor, Tube Sound, EQ, De Esser.

Just wondering if anyone has used it and what they thought of it.

2007 thread, yes I know.

I can grab one for 200 bucks and I saw many great reviews about it. That said, I'd be curious to know if it is used - and if it fits well - in a Metal context according to those who used one. I'm tired of my Presonus firestudio for vocal recordings.

I'd do it for 200 bucks.
I own one since 2005 or something. Still can't get a good enough result out of the expander though (it's more of a gate, but a really noisy one when closing, at least on this unit). The pre-amp, compressor, eq and de-esser are pretty good. The tube sound and vintage harmonizer are ok, but can get pretty ugly when overused.

You can hear it in action on the demo of my latest band (recorded vocals, used the compressor, the eq and the de-esser, put a rocket compressor behind it):

I've re-amped vocals for my old band as well, using the compressor, eq, tube sound, vintage harmonizer and the de-esser, nothing behind it. You can download the result here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/14329274/HOP/CheckPlease.zip

Hope that helps you decide.
