i'm fucking sick of the people who think the only good music are the ones who have uberdifficult solos at speed of the light.

as far technics goes, they are better. so fucking what? that is not what makes music. Nothing Else Matters or Fade To Black solos makes me shiver everytime, something that never happened with SymX or any other prepotent cunt guitarrist.

Fast shredding doesn't make a guitarist, I'm well aware, but neither does 15 years of shitty albums and cover songs. Jason Becker and Paul Gilbert are fucking awesome, and have remained awesome throughout their career (despite one of them being half vegetable). You can't instantly discredit a guitarist because they shred too fast, so they instantly become a novelty.

They were good for 8 years, then started sucking for a solid 15, tells me they aren't metal masters anymore.

While I like Metallica, Cliff was the only thing holding the band (and their talent) together. They had one good album after his death (Justice), but they went all to hell after that.
