I decided to go back to 1986 to bring back this thrash gem and easily this band's best record. Coincidentally, this is the same year that Reign in Blood was released but that's where the comparison ends. The band decided to change singers and upped the production a bit from their debut, Power From Hell. What really happened is that the songwriting improved a hundred times fold and even though it only has seven songs, they make them count with great riffs and wonderful changes. I remember listening to the record and being afraid of the imagery and the lyrics but once I was by the second song i found myself singing along to the lyrics...it was that good! I don't know if being british made a difference in their sound at the time but Bay Area thrash this was not. I only have one weak track in the whole thing, Demoniac, as the rest just doesn't let up. The fast tracks are a highlight since the tempo changes are really sweet like Fight with the Beast and Flame of the Antichrist. The midpacer Metal Forces is fantastic with that screamed chorus by Keeler.
Still, one of my favorites in my collection and one of the first great UK thrash bands.
"Cursed are the mortals who dare...to fight with the Beast!"
