they are popular in many countries.. in particular spheres - prog fans that is. Not that you'll see them on MTV... But a radio in my town that focuses on rock music transmitted a whole concert from the In Absentia tour like a week ago

Ironic, coming from an American. Even new In Flames still slays pretty much every popular 'metal' band that America has spawned in the last ten years. Save for Mastodon and maybe one or two others.
