As requested: ENGL Savage only guitars

I agree with you but it's not so bad. I thought it was "decent" until I found my last settings and actually it sounds very good (I think)...good but different from the savage 120.

I never said, it's a bad amp. I just was never satisfied with it's live-sound. Recorded, mine had a really cool Marshall-style rock-tone. Your sound is stunning! Care to share your settings? Not that I could try 'em out - but I'd like to see what you did to it to get it sounding so tight.

So you have to have it overgained, or undergained there is no middleground, is that what you're saying?

No..there is middleground. But I think the overgained/undergained sound is personal taste. Someone prefers an undergained sound (for example Machinated's 5150 sound) and someone else prefers more gain.
I'm speaking about the 60watt version and if I put the gain around 12o'clock the sound lacks lot of body (typical in 5150 and mesa) and it's very dry.
With the gain around 3o'clock you have the perfect balance of gain, body and tickness.

What was the Diezel mods?

Yeah, price wise that's true, but I haven't spotted too many on ebay unfortunately! :( Maybe now that Musicians Fiend carries 'em they'll pop up more though...

Now that I'm finally listening to this, it's cool, though I think probably the biggest reason it sounds so good is a) it's tuned so low and b) you play a mean axe Ola, cuz IMO the tone itself is a bit on the grainy side, though it chugs well, and maybe with a good 4x12 it'd be better!

I'd say the Blackmore is geared more toward trash. It can do heavier, but not like a savage can. Trust me on this, I own a blackmore and I spent a week trying to get close to Ola's tone.

I got close..but the savage has a more aggressive edge.

I agree it is really grainy... but since I'm not a fan of micing up a cab looking for a sweep spot I think this particular setup in this video made it grainy.

But in general you can hear the typ of sound I get.

And thanks for the kind words :D
