"frikadeller" reminds me of a demential song by storm called "oppi fjellet" -> any northern person, what does this mean? my conclusion was "fields of opium", especially after hearing the tune, but i'm quite bubious on that. for those of you who don't know the song, go and download it, it sounds like the seven dwarves on crystal meth, it's just so stupid...

I won't repeat the answer given already, but it is actually a well known traditional song in Scandinavia - the Finnish lyrics are completely different from the others, though.

When I think of frikadella I just think: it's already 5 o clock???(=dinner time....).
As for the northern songs, my immagination won't move so far- Herr Mannelig or Villeman og Magnihild are more than enough to me.
