Audio Technica ATH-M50 vs. Sennheiser HD 280

Duh, I'm using my interface's headphone out I was just wondering how getting a third party headphone amplifier would make "that" much of a difference?

On headphone amps - most interfaces have at least a decent HP amp. Some have very good ones.

And also look at the senn HD25. I use it for tracking and it crops up in mixing too. I dont know how it compares to the M50, but it kicks the balls off the 280 imo. I use it over my ultrasone pro750s, which sound fucking wonderfull if you mixed something well, but I dont trust them for mixing on in the least - too coloured and they flatten low end dynamics much more than the 25s.
