Is there a chance that I'll like this one considering I hated In Harmonia Universalis and that Pills or whatever album? I've heard this one described as being rather similar to La Masquerade Infernale.

Anubi are very good.

Yeah, I like it the least of their albums aside from Neonism - but it is more BM related than Pills and IHU, so perhaps.

Borknagar and Arcturus obviously need a mention.

Definitely check out Ephel Duath, particularly their earlier stuff. The Painter's Palette is their most highly regarded (jazz/black metal) but I far prefer Rephormula, a gothic, symphonic, electronic styled black metal album. In fact it's one of my favourite BM albums ever.

Arcturus!

Stop all you're doing and listen to each album until you've memorized all lyrics and instrumentation. NOW

I was actually listening to Sideshow Symphonies the other day, it is brilliant, not sure it could really be called black metal though, still, I dont want to prod at the whole classification thing as I dont wish to get my head bitten off by a troll.
