i keep tossing up whether to do melbourne as well as syd, as because there is just one show, it will probably be the same set at both, so only advatage is venue + people. either way i'll be down in melb with the band a few times this year, so we'll get a chance to hang no doubt

Someone should point the organizers for the Melbourne gig to a little band called "Ne Obliviscaris" to open. Still tossing up a Sydney trip...

^Nice. I can't think of a better local act to open for them. Probably my favorite oz metal act. The Aurora Veil is probably the best metal I've heard from Australia imo. They would also obviously get a lot of exposure, aside from the fact that I'm sure a lot of Opeth fans there would appreciate them.

yeah but the labels/promoters would be hesitant because they are relatively unheard of and too extreme. still, once can dream...
