I think this is good news so far. People are saying Obama is being partisan by picking Rahm Emanuel as chief of staff but...what do they think, he's going to pick a Republican? I think it'd be interesting to see McCain in his cabinet tbh. What do you all think?

He needs to make that Nobel economics laureate Paul Krugman the Secretary of Treasury. It's probably going to end up being Warren Buffett, but I guess he's a good option too.

I've heard rumors that he is going to pick my state's governor John Corzine for that Secretary of Treasury position. I'm not sure how well that would go since he's royally fucked NJ since being in office.

You think he would do that? McCain is already the (I am ignorant of a lot of this) Senior member of the Republican Senators and is in some military advisory board or organization or something.

This is the quote I botched:

After two years spent more on the campaign than in the Senate, McCain will return as the ranking Republican on the Armed Services Committee. That will put the four-term Arizona senator in a position to influence Democrat Barack Obama's plan to set a timetable to withdraw U.S. troops from combat in Iraq.

Obama said that he would consider McCain for any position for which he felt he was the best man for the job.

Where'd you get your information on Buffet?

I think if he was going to hire McCain for any position, it would probably be Secretary of Defense.

He denied a similar proposition from Clinton before, saying that he is not temperamentally minded enough to do something like that. :(
