Yes, we are a bad influence. Angry parents will march in the streets once they find out about this place.

I can see the signs:
BAN THE COBHXCX MESSAGEBOARD FOREVER!!!
OUR KIDS SLIT THEIR WRISTS WHEN THEY FOUND OUT NOBODY LIKES AYDY?
MY KID WEARS MAKEUP NOW
MY SON STOLE 3 GRAND TO BUY A LAIHO GUITAR OFF EBAY

It must be heartbreaking to see young people like your favorite band. And those damn posers! Of course that's a good reason not to go on a gig.. I mean people might recognize you among those kids and label you as one of them! Maybe it's no more a cool thing to listen to COB when everyone like them. Was that the reason you listened to them in the first place and not because you liked the music? If you did like the music, stuff like this shouldn't affect you, poser
It's not that the people are young... it's just that they behave childish.
When i'm going to a concert i really want to see, i want to enjoy the show, stand still and listen...
I don't have a problem that young people like it, that much people like it, or that there is a mosh pit for a few times in the show on a rough melody...
But with a bunch of kids, yelling all the time, pushing each other forward to get to the front of the stage.. annoying other people...
it's just not thát fun anymore.

When i saw CoB the last time, it was too crowded... people body to body to body, no one could get air to breathe, they had to tear much people on the first row over the security-barricades because they were getting screwed.
I was "hanging" for long time above the ground and i couldn't reach the ground with my feet because i was getting pressed body-to-body with the pushing crowd. It took more than 20 minutes to get out of there...

Sometimes it's just no fun anymore.
When you have more mature people you don't get into those situations.
Like at an Iron Maiden concert, also well known by much people, don't have te be poser for that... but you can just stand on a normal place to enjoy with pleasure.

If you don't wanna get pushed, don't go to the front. Eh.

I have to say i agree with you on this. That sounds kind of like Sepultura + Leprosy + Mákina @ Mexico City. It was a great concert, but when people become mindless animals and you can't breathe anymore the fun is over.

Shadeg: That's part of all the fun. Of course we want to get pushed. Just not to the point of having to smell a 547896-ton gorilla without a shirt or deodorant, struggling for every breath, flying in the air and feeling pain because they push too hard.

It may sound elitest, but it is the truth. Kids ruin gigs.

When I went to Dissection last year in December the average age there was 25, no one was younger that 18 and it was fantastic. The whole audience just went to the bar, and I could casually walk to the front of the stage ready for the band. There was no pushing, no mosh pits. Just people headbanging and having a great time.

That never happens when kids are at concerts.

I was at a Dissection gig, with moshpits. It kicked ass.
Moshpits are a part of metal, whether you like it or not. If you don't want to be touched, don't go to a metal gig, and definately don't get up front.
I don't say you're asking to get your lights punched out, but you can expect to be bumped into more than once.
I hate it when people clap during songs, but hey, that's part of it too.

I am really excited to go to gigs while I am living in Finland I want to see what the atmosphere is like.

Instead of the North American "I'm tougher than you" atmosphere of a metal concert and the "lets get to teh front of teh stage to be as close to Alexi as possible omg" atmosphere of an ALL AGES metal concert.

I want to see what it's like there.

Completly agreed.

Tell that to a Slayer crowd.

My first metal concert was Slayer/Soulfly:yuk: /In Flames my friend got elbowed right in the face and it broke his nose it was some dirt leg hoosier trailer park piece of trash who couldn't control himself. I punched the asshole in his kidney and he fell down and got stomped on by about another dozen trailer trash assholes. I don't mind people moshing and bumping into me but throwing elbows is uncalled for, all I ask for is some degree of self control and respect for the others around you that are trying to enjoy the show. Moshing is gay but I am not going to discourage others from doing it. Just as long as they don't pull shit like the guy in my example.

I've been to concerts where the youngest person was my 16-year-old brother and everyone else was at least 18 or so, and i've been pushed and punched by 50-year-old (or 40-year-old with a body destroyed by drugs and who knows what else, thus looking like they're 50) men. It's not something only little kids do.

Then again, one of the two best concerts i've been to in my life was Apocalyptica at the National Auditorium in Mexico City. Everyone was sitting down quietly. When the guys entered the stage, everyone stood up. Everyone was headbanging (and i drowned in rapture and absolute bliss), and everyone screamed and clapped at the end of each song, but nobody pushed anybody else.

But that was just one concert in a million.

Finally, Heavenscent couldn't have said it better:

the Dream Theater/Queensryche concert i went to in 03 was like that as well, it was a great show. as was the megadeth exodus concert(at the same venue), it was great! i was front row for the megadeth/exodus concert, and i was able to just enjoy it, not be smothered or bumped into etc.

I always wanted to go to a festival where Slayer played wearing a shirt that says: "Slayer = Gayer" although i love Slayer

I go to concerts to party and have fun, moshing is part of that. But i despise elbowing and all that hardcore shit.

I would pay good money for a video tape of yourself wearing a Slayer=Gayer shirt at a night out at a Slayer concert.

Yeah I saw Megadeth/Exodus at a very small venue. Was a very cool show. Had a blast.
