BACON!

over at my grandparent's house the other day i was watching some show on the history of peanut butter. way back when, peanut butter & bacon sandwiches were popular. they even made bacon flavored peanut butter at one point. o_O

PEANUT BUTTER AND BACON ROLL UPS

8 slices thin white bread
Crunchy peanut butter
1 lb. sliced bacon
Wooden toothpicks

1. Using bread, make four peanut butter sandwiches (spread peanut butter generously). Trim off crusts.

2. Cut each sandwich into 9 bite size cubes.

3. Cut bacon slices into thirds, wrap each sandwich cube with bacon; secure with toothpick.

4. Place bacon wrapped cubes on rack of broiler pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 15 minutes or until bacon is crisped to individual preference. Kids love 'em.

Mmm, bacon flavoured crisps.

I love wrapping stuff in bacon, especially streaky bacon, like sausages, new potatoes, diced chicken etc. Basically wrap any meat product in bacon and it will probably taste better.

Bacon doesn't get much better though than in a sandwich.

I'm eating Oscar Meyer bacon because that's all the store had. It's okay, better than Farmer John's, but not better than Trader Joe's bacon or the MOTHER OF ALL BACON: Albertchone's thick sliced. MMMMMMMMM mmmmm....

Bacon is great... both as a main dish and an "herb". Unfortunately most Americans have never tasted real bacon... as we tend to have an inferior mass-produced version stuffed down our bacon-holes.

I've done my time at Denny's during such occasions, and after one particular incident I no longer eat there.

But okay, Denny's sucks, IMHTFGO. :loco:
