Hi passing bass guitar question, is hi passing up to 200hz in the wrong direction with bass?

Yes, the root notes are around 70hz, doing that will get rid of the root note and the first harmonic (140hz).

Hipass at maybe 35Hz. Lowpass depends, usually around 7khz, but it may not even be needed.

ok first one with distorted guitars, they dont sound great sorry, im happy to accept that but its just appreciation for the mix i am aiming for ill sorry out the raw guitar sound after my house move (yes im moving house in a few weeks so i have no amp amp im using a tube pre amp with speaker emulation:

Problem is most speakers cant go much lower than 50hz so your just hi passing blindly.

logic is just as good a program as other daw's...just to throw it in a nutshell (and may help you remember it if its brought up again) hipass tames the lows and lets the higher freqs cut through....and lowpass is the opposite it tames the highs while letting the lows cut through.

another good idea might be to actually copy some of these threads and just throw them in your email or a notepad or something on your comp so that you have this info for reference and can access it quicker then having to sort through all the threads that get buried on here
