Death Metal - Morbid Angel - Domination....don't like it as much as I used to due to finding better bands

Black Metal - Revenge - Triumph Genocide Antichrist - kinda bores me now

Doom - High On Fire - Surrounded By Thieves - still like it

Grind - Napalm Death - Scum - still good

Death - Carcass, Opeth, Bolt Thrower
Black - Silencer, Elhaz
Thrash - Metallica, Sodom

I basically got into 'extreme metal' a few years ago after watching Cradle of Filth's video for Her Ghost in the Fog. After that I began to branch out into black metal, death metal and various other genres etc.

death metal:
Obituary - Cause Of Death

black metal:
Dissection - Storm Of The Light's Bane
Dark Funeral - Secrets Of The Black Arts

Black Metal: Bathory - Blood, Fire, Death
Death Metal: Death - Scream Bloody Gore

Both in the late eighties. I didn't really learn to appreciate Bathory until a tad later, though, but it tickled my fancy. And I had, of course, heard Slayer, Possessed and Sepultura before Death, but I just considered it thrash.
